I will frequently be writing a tip on line dancing and will put the collection of tips on this page.

Tip #1
Buy an inexpesive tote to tote your boots back and forth from class. It’s better than a plastic bag and keep a bottle of bottled water in your tote and a small hand towel.

Tip #2
For practicing at home, put your line dance step sheets in the order you would dance them at class – start with slower ones to warm up, progress to faster ones, and end with slower ones to cool down – and make an audio tape or cd with the songs for each step sheet in the same order.

Tip #3
Carry a container of Johnson’s Baby Powder (or the equivalent) in your tote when you go to take a class. Many a time the floor becomes “tacky” and a little baby powder saves the day! Make sure the instructor has no objections! (Although it was my instructor who told me this trick.)

Tip # 4
In Hawaii, they start teaching the children to Hula almost as soon as they can walk. Little kids love to dance, and it’s easy to get kids line dancing! They have a natural rhythm we tend to lose as we get older, and they’re not the least bit inhibited! See if you can find a class that has line dancing instructions for kids. They’ll have a great time!

Tip #5
Take good care of your line dancing boots and they will last a long time. Their soles are thinner and smoother to facilitate line dancing and they’re not made for wearing outside. Buy an inexpensive tote to carry them back and forth from your line dance class.

Tip #6
Check the Step Sheets Page above for new step sheets. I’m beginning to add more as I complete my over 100 Page eBook on Line Dancin’ Fun which will have information about line dancing, step sheets, terms, etiquette, and more. When it is finished (soon, I hope!) I will offer it to YOU here FREE!
